What is meningioma ?

  • Epilepsy seizures.

What are nootropic drugs?

Nootropics are a class of drugs that have a specific effect on higher nervous functions in humans. It is generally accepted that nootropics stimulate cerebral blood flow, higher nervous functions, memory, sleep and learning ability. They are also able to protect the brain from harmful influences and hypoxia. Their effectiveness in preventing strokes is currently being studied.

Unfortunately, modern scientific literature is not able to give a clear answer to the question: are nootropics capable of provoking the development of meningioma or, on the contrary, are they able to compensate for its symptoms.

On the one hand, taking nootropics improves cerebral circulation, which in turn can lead to increased growth of brain tumors. This point of view is based on the fact that meningioma feeds from the circulatory system of the “tumor host” body. Improving cerebral circulation improves blood circulation in the tumor itself, therefore, its replenishment with macro- and micronutrients . Which, in turn, can provoke its growth.

On the other hand, taking nootropic drugs can compensate for some of the symptoms that occur in people with meningioma . Namely: sleep disturbance, confusion, intellectual, visual and hearing disorders. Considering that the ability of nootropics to stimulate tumor growth has not been scientifically proven, taking nootropic drugs in some cases is advisable.

However, only a specialist should prescribe or, on the contrary, prohibit the use of this class of drugs, based on the severity of symptoms and potential risks. Due to the potential danger of this disease, self-medication is strictly unacceptable!
