The main cause of hyperthermia in the oncological process is the production of a protein with inherent pyrogenic properties by the tumor. Even slight hyperthermia may indicate cancer and precedes other symptoms by 6-9 months. Low-grade fever can last a long time - from several weeks to several years, depending on the course and nature of the disease.

As a complication

When treating a brain tumor with inhibitor drugs or cytostatics, the body reacts quite aggressively - chills and fever appear. In a weakened body, various infections begin to rapidly progress due to decreased immunity.

The number of neutrophils contained in the blood also decreases and conditions are created for the proliferation of bacterial material. During chemotherapy, an increase in temperature may indicate an autoimmune process.

If the first signs of hyperthermia appear, you must immediately measure your temperature and inform your doctor. You should not start taking antipyretic drugs on your own, as signs of concomitant diseases may disappear.

In the event of a complication during the treatment process, it is necessary to strictly adhere to the rules of personal hygiene, since even a minor bacterial effect can provoke a serious inflammatory process.
